Amazon announced last week that they'll be opening a new office in Vancouver and hiring for 1000 new positions!
On November 3rd, Amazon announced that they will be establishing a new Vancouver office at 402 Dunsmuir Street (source: The Georgia Straight). The new office will be an estimated 150,000 square feet and serve as the new home for 1000 future Amazon employees. Always dreamed of working for this global technology giant? Here’s your chance!
As a tech company that specializes in cloud computing and e-commerce, Amazon is always in need of software engineers. When asked, Alexandre Gagnon, Vice President for Amazon Canada and Mexico, responded that roughly 90 percent of the current staff at the existing Vancouver office are software engineers. It is posited that 900 of the 1000 upcoming hires at the new Vancouver office will also be software engineers. If you are a computer science or engineering student, or simply someone with software engineering skills, this is a great opportunity that you won't want to miss.
